Unfiltered

I've always figured that the best of my writing tends to come about during the wee hours of the morning (haha as if any of my writing was "good"). After all, the only reason I'm still up is because I can't stop thinking and what better way to fall asleep than to spew all those restless thoughts out? That was a long sentence.
Tomorrow is my only day off all week. It's bittersweet. I've become so accustom to being busy all the time that I feel like a useless blob when I have nothing to do all day. I could paint or work on one of my many unfinished projects, and I probably will...but I'll still feel unproductive at the end of the day. Unless of course I take a cellphone picture of what I accomplished. Because then all the sudden it's like I have legitimate documentation that I actually did something. As if I'm trying to prove to everyone who is not looking at my phone, " Look what I did today! I'm definitely not a useless pile of doody!" Then said imaginary person would pat me on the back and give me a little blue ribbon that said "#1" on it and my life would be complete.
Anyway.
I've got to go to the hardware store to get some stuff for a cosplay. I will be dressing as Big Sister from Bioshock 2 this year at Youmacon 2010. PICTURE!

That's right. I'm a (very bad) gamer, but mostly a costume/sewing enthusiast. And lets face it, speaking as an illustrator in the making, those gaming character designs get me all hot and bothered. So what better way to show my unhealthy obsession than dressing up as one?! Not so much you say? Get outta' here.
I had some more I wanted to write but I spent too much time looking for and uploading a picture. That will come soon. Probably not.

Monday, February 1, 2010

I'd like to think I'm a fairly productive person. I'm a full time college student going for illustration. I work part time at a certain big box electronics store. I'm active in my church and serve on a regular basis. I'm the proxy-homemaker of my house when everyone else is working...and I go near crazy if I'm not occupying myself with something.
But I have to unwind. I used to write a personal journal but that was hardly consistent. So here is my blog. I'll write here to unwind and relive my shenanigans from the previous day and perhaps shine some light on future endeavors. Or perhaps not. Regardless, looking back in a year I'm bound to be confused if not embarrassed about what I wrote. So it should be good fun.

Writing this blog is the unproductive part of my day. And I'll be damned if I say I don't need it.
